Every act of kindness counts, even it’s just a small act for a helpless person or even an animal. This story is about a cute baby elephant named Moyo.
The baby elephant somehow managed to get lost of her herd. Since she is just a few days old, it wasn’t expected that she would survive on her own. Thankfully, there are still kind people in the world like the woman who helped Moyo.
The baby elephant was alone, starving and afraid as a pack of hyenas were approaching here. She didn’t know how to save her self, so she decided to jump into the flooded river. Although Moyo believed her fate has been sealed, a group of rangers showed up just in time to save her. They came out of nowhere and helped her get out of the river.

Then, Moyo’s life has changed a lot. The rangers took her to the Wild Is Life sanctuary located in Harare, Zimbabwe and the founder of the sanctuary Roxy Danckwerts became her adopting mom. This happened 2 years ago.
After the moment when Moyo was rescued of certain death, things have completely changed for her and her adopting mom.
Now, Moyo weighs approximately 150 pounds. She loves spending time with Roxy and even follows her everywhere. Roxy is surprised as Moyo recognizes her voice and smell.
The pair made an incredible connection and they become inseparable. Although sometimes Moyo is turning Roxy’s house into a mess, the adopting mom doesn’t mind it.
Roxy said that she became a mom to many animals, but she didn’t form an extraordinary friendship with all of them. Moyo is special and it will be hard for the mom to let her go.
However, Roxy is determined to help animals in need, after all, she chose this road on her own. She wants all animals to have the freedom to roam and make their own choices.
