Dogs are loving, loyal and perfect companions. Even when people betray or abandon dogs, they don’t really understand what actually happened. Sadly, there are many dogs around the world that are abandoned just because their owners are bored with them.
That is what happened to a dog named Carla. Her owner abandoned in a forest near Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The dog was patiently waiting for her owners to return for 2 days in a row. But, it was freezing outside. So, local residents noticed the dog and they were really concerned. They immediately called Janine Guido, the founder of local animal rescue.
For the next 3 days, Guido made several attempts to save the abandoned dog. Carla even ate food from her hand. However, Carla wasn’t really comfortable when Guido put a leash on her, so the dog always ran away. She would even disappear for days but always came back. The residents were always taking care of her.

One day, when Guido was posting updates about the rescue on Facebook, she noticed Carla in her car. It seems that the dog got tired and chose to trust the woman who was trying to rescue her for several days.
Guido immediately took Carla to the veterinarian hospital. The vet didn’t find a microchip and was 20 pounds underweight. Guido managed to find a foster home with other dogs for Carla where she fully recovered from this horrible experience.
After her recovery, a nice family decided to adopt Carla. Finally, the dog found a forever home and she is now enjoying her life.
It seems that Carla stopped trusting people when her previous owners abandoned her in freezing weather. Fortunately, a nice family opened their door for Carla and now she is loving her new home and her owners.
