People who abandon animals usually leave them on the streets. They leave the poor creatures without any food or water.
On the bright side, not all people are so cruel. Fortunately, there are people who risk their lives in order to help an animal on the freeway. It’s hard for those people to simply drive by.
When Rodrigo González was driving along a busy freeway in Mexico, he couldn’t help but notice a dog lying on the opposite lane. Instead of driving away, he quickly turned his car back in order to help the poor dog.
He drove by slowly to check if the dog was still alive and immediately decided to stop and help him. Although it’s a dangerous thing to do, Rodrigo didn’t want to leave the dog behind.
He even filmed a video of his roadside rescue and shared it on his Facebook profile. He decided to name the dog Lucky.

After rescuing the dog, Rodrigo took him to the vet. Lucky spent a week at the vet’s office, where he lost an eye and had a spinal injury. Although the vet said that the dog might not be able to walk again, watch the video below to see what happened when Rodrigo opened up the door.
Lucky isn’t the first dog that Rodrigo rescued. He actually has saved more than 20 dogs. The kind man will foster Lucky until he finds him a forever home.
In just a few days, Lucky is already doing so much better. He is enjoying his foster home and playing with the other dogs that stay at Rodrigo’s.
Rodrigo didn’t share the video of Lucky’s rescue to brag about his actions. In fact, he wants to raise awareness about abandoned animals and inspire others to help, foster or adopt.
