Abandoned animals are a major problem for many countries in the world. The number of abandoned animals increases almost every day. Once pet owners don’t want their pets anymore, they decided to leave them on the streets, often without even food or water.
A man recently noticed a dog lying in the middle of the road. When Rico Soegiarto was going home from work in Denpasar, Bali, he saw a starved dog that had wounds all over the body and was missing fur.
The dog was a Siberian Husky, but she was in a really bad condition that you couldn’t even see her breed. This poor dog was on the verge of death. Fortunately, Rico knew he had to do something instead of leaving the dog to die in the middle of the road.

Although Rico already had other rescue dogs at home, he couldn’t leave the poor pup. He instantly made a connection with this pup. He named her Hope because he believed that her blue eyes are full of hope, despite her horrible condition.
When Rico brought Hope home, her recovery started. In order for her fur to grow back, she received many medicated baths. He gave her a few meals per day so she could gain weight. Rico made an incredible job at nursing Hope back to health.
As time passed by, Hope started looking like a normal dog. She even gained her confidence back. When her fur began to grow back, she was unrecognizable.
After ten months, Hope fully recovered and became a beautiful, healthy Husky! When her transformation was complete, Rico decided to adopt her.
Everyone deserves a second chance at life, even animals like Hope. She is now living a happy life with Rico and his family in Bali, Indonesia.
