Dogs come in all sizes and shapes. All of them have different personalities and abilities. Tracey Fowler from Mendon, Vermont knows that the best. She dedicated her life to rescue dogs that usually are overlooked. She rescues dogs with paralysis or other medical conditions that require extra care.
Tracey named her pack of dogs The Fowler Herd. She has even set up a Facebook page where she shares all of her daily adventures with her pack.
It’s not easy living with seven dogs while 5 of them are in carts. However, Tracey somehow manages to take care of all dogs and give each dog individual sessions of love and attention. She recently added a new member of the herd, a sweet pitbull named Lacey.

Tracey’s pack of special needs dogs started with Hayden, a German Shepherd that was suffering from degenerative myelopathy. When Hayden became paralyzed, Tracey wanted to help him and decided to try out a cart.
It’s not an easy process to put a dog in a cart. Some dogs might struggle with the wheels, but Hayden wasn’t one of them. The new wheels gave the dog freedom to keep on living the life he deserved. He was such a playful dog.
When the German Shepherd passed away, Tracey was devastated, but also inspired to help another dog in need. So, she decided to adopt just dogs with special needs. She wanted to help them to live a good life. Now, 5 years later, her herd is bigger and stronger.
Tracey shares videos of her dogs on social media every day. Even though the dogs are with special needs they still can enjoy the freedom to run and play.
Tracey admitted that her dogs make her really happy! We are glad to hear that. Even though the dogs are with special needs, they still deserve to live a happy life!
