A dog was kidnapped this week and it’s still missing. A Malinois dog was stolen from a healthcare worker who helps patients fighting the coronavirus.

The unfortunate incident occurred this Saturday when Max, an 11-week-old puppy, was taken away from his owner’s home in Concord, California. Police are now trying to solve the case and catch the person behind it.

Shaila Sheikh who works as a nurse at a local hospital was at work when her dog was stolen. Even though her family got Max just two weeks ago, they were devastated and heartbroken when they found out their dog was stolen from his kennel.

The man who stole the dog was caught on camera riding on a bike with Max. However, he’s wearing a hoodie so it’s hard to see his face.

The Sheikh family had Max just for two weeks when he went missing. Shaila said she was really sad when her dog got stolen because Max was actually helping her family to start over. She moved a while ago with her kids, trying to start a new chapter. Max was actually an early birthday present for one of her kids.

In the meantime, even Shaila’s kids are devastated and upset for Max. All of them miss him so much, but they are still hoping that they will find him.

Shaila’s family, friends, and coworkers are very supportive and even helped with raising reward money for Max. His absence is really noticeable. Whenever the nurse returns home from work, Max always makes her feel loved and showers her with hugs and kisses.

The Sheikh’s house is now quieter and the family feels incomplete without Max.

Although the police are trying to find the person who stole Max, they still don’t have any major leads about his whereabouts. If you know anything, please contact the Concord Police Department.
