Life isn’t always kind to strays or animals residing at shelters. Just take a look at Ellabelle and Ladybug, two neglected and unwanted pit bulls who were staying at a local animal shelter. Until one day, when one kind man decided to adopt both of them.
When Robert McGowan saw the sweetness in them, he immediately fell in love with them. Although they are pit bulls, a breed that is often described as dangerous, they aren’t aggressive at all.
When McGowan was in his garage last week, something unusual happened. Four strangers got inside the garage and attacked him. One of them even punched him in the eye.

The attackers wanted McGowan’s car keys. Although he was injured, he managed to tell them the keys were inside the house. When one of them opened the door into the home, the pit bulls were there to greet them.
Ellabelle and Ladybug came to the rescue! Although McGowan suffered a black eye in the attack, his dogs prevent more injuries. Fortunately, nothing was stolen. The brave dogs received a reward for their heroic act.
McGowan is so grateful for his dogs and hopes that his story will inspire others to adopt a dog, instead of buying.
Animal shelters are filled rescues and unwanted dogs who would do the same as Ellabelle and Ladybug. If you don’t own a dog, now it’s time to visit a local shelter and make at least one dog happy!
