Life is tough, especially for tiny orphan fox cubs. Sometimes nature can be really cruel and it’s a miracle when a poor creature survives. Luckily, this little fox was saved by two kind wildlife photographers.
Wildlife photographers Mark Strachan and Peter Lewis were in Scotland, last summer. While they were trying to take pictures of the amazing landscapes from distance, they noticed a three fox cubs litter.
They also saw the fox mom, but unfortunately, she was dead. So, they had to do something, but they were also aware if they help too much, the fox cubs may lose their natural skills.
They kept an eye on the orphaned cubs for a few days. Two of them left the litter to search for food on their own. However, the third stayed in and was already hungry.
That’s when Mark and Peter decided to step in and give food to the orphaned fox. They even tried to teach her how to hunt on her own. They give her the name Black Paws.

The duo became foster parents to Black Paws. When Peter couldn’t feed her, he was forced to rely on Mark to keep feeding her during the holidays.
A year later, the photographers return to visit her. She was all grown up and she didn’t forget the kind men who saved her life.
When Peter saw her again, he was surprised that she has turn into a very beautiful vixen and she hadn’t forgotten him. Even though she is a wild fox, she still came right up and sat yards from him. It’s amazing how she let the two photographers into her life, that help her enter into adulthood.
However, their foster duties don’t end here. They want to take a few more trips to the place, to keep an eye on Black Paws.
