Some people are kind enough to help stray animals. An animal lover named Tia is one of those people.
She went on a hiking trip to the mountains with her father to enjoy nature. However, they didn’t expect to bring an extra company on their way back.
During the hike, Tia noticed a severely injured dog on the side of the trail.
The poor dog couldn’t move and was just laying there. When Tia and her father saw the dog, they checked on him to make sure he was alive.
Although none of them is a vet, they noticed that the dog simply couldn’t walk anymore. It was obvious that the poor dog was abandoned by his owners and left behind to cripple.
However, the two of them decided to do everything they can to save the dog.
But, they were aware that the road to find help won’t be easy because they were six hours away from the closest village. Also, it was hard to pick up the dog who weighed over 55 pounds.

But, it appears that adrenaline kicked in for Tia because she decided to carry the dog back to civilization on her shoulders.
Since they didn’t have a transport vehicle and the dog couldn’t stand on his own, carrying him on Tia’s shoulders was the only way to transport him. Her father wasn’t strong enough to carry the dog, so Tia had to go return with the extra weight.
During an interview on the Pickler and Ben YouTube Channel, Tia said it was the hardest thing she’s done in her life, but it was worth it.
When YouTubers commented that Tia must have really strong muscles, she laughed and agreed silently. Fortunately, she used to be a gymnast, so she was perfect for the job.
However, we aren’t sure that anything in life can prepare you to carry a 55-pound dog on your shoulders.
While Tia was carrying the dog, she wanted to stop and quit, but she didn’t. However, she didn’t want to let him down.
After six miles of hiking, Tia and her father finally reached the village and rushed to the vet.
The poor dog had a long road to recovery in front of him. He had ruptured ligaments and needed surgery in his paws.
Luckily, vets tracked down the dog’s owners and found out that his name was Boomer.
The owners were contacted and said that Boomer fell off a 100-foot cliff and didn’t believe that he survived. Fortunately, he proved them wrong.
We are thankful to Tia who rescued Boomer who was left to die. She is an incredible woman!
