A cute little Scots kitten who was found with a broken back has made an incredible recovery, even the vets couldn’t believe it.

Two citizens found Millie when she was just 3 months old. They took her to the Scottish Borders, a rescue centre located in Earlston, Scotland.

Staff at the Borders Pet Rescue Centre noticed that she couldn’t properly walk and immediately transferred her to the vets for an X-ray. Vets found out that she had suffered from a broken spine, but somehow got used to living with the injury. They didn’t think she would be able to walk again.

After intensive physiotherapy with her foster family, Millie managed to beat all the odds against her. Now, she can run around and even climb trees. She really amazed the staff with her ability to cope. The centre even found her a potential forever home!

Lee-Ann Lackie, who works as a manager at the centre, said that a couple showed up on the doorstep and has been trying to find the kitten’s owner. Once Millie was brought in, Lackie and other staff at the centre noticed that she wasn’t walking properly and took her to the vet the next morning. However, the kitten wasn’t in pain.

The broken back probably happened when Millie was much younger. It’s possible that she was run over, but Lakie can’t know for sure. Then, the kitten was given to a foster family so she can build up her back legs and she’s getting stronger every day.

It’s amazing how Millie adjusted to her broken back and was able to do normal kitten things. It’s not obvious that she has a disability.

Millie can get along with everyone, including dogs, other cats and animals, children, etc. She enjoys being in the centre of attention.

The kitten will be able to go into her new home within the next few weeks after the final home safety checks.
