Many Americans celebrated the Fourth of July with fireworks displays this past weekend. This holiday is also known as Independence Day and has been celebrated since 1941.
Although many people enjoy the beautiful sights and loud sounds of fireworks, animals are afraid of them, especially dogs because they have sensitive hearing. Also, dogs are scared of loud sounds.
But, there is a dark side to these festive celebrations and sometimes it can end with fatal results. Unfortunately, one old dog recently died of a panic attack during a fireworks display.
Antonella Modasjazh, the owner of the dog who died, recently shared the heartbreaking story on Facebook. She wrote that her lovely pet Magui died after suffering a series of panic attacks triggered by the fireworks.

Antonella tried to get in touch with local veterinarians, but nobody responded. The old dog died while her son was holding her in his arms.
The entire family was grieving, so they didn’t have the chance to celebrate the holiday. They said no holiday celebration was worth the life of Magui.
This event is a tragic reminder of the real impact fireworks can have on dogs and other animals. Although the situation doesn’t always end up fatal like this one, many dogs are afraid of the noise.
So, if you want to set off fireworks during summer, remember to warn your neighbors who own pets. It is your duty to let them know when you will be setting them off so they can be prepared that their pets will suffer a potential panic attack.
In order to help animals who are terrified of the fireworks sound, one Italian town decided to use silent fireworks. Hopefully, other cities will follow their example.
