Many pet owners love their dogs so much and even make sure their dog’s paws don’t get burnt when walking on hot pavement. Farmers have also decided to protect their calves but from frostbites. The calvers are now wearing adorable and colorful earmuffs to keep them warm during winter.

Frostbites is a huge problem for farmers. They have a hard time to protect the calves during extremely cold winters. Farmers and beef cattle producers have already lost many calves. Newborn calves have a hard time adjusting to weather changes since they are not evolved enough.

Luckily, farmers have found a smart way to help their calves survive during cold winters. One Twitter user posted a picture of his calf wearing cute pink earmuffs. The post has received more than 170,000 likes.

Although the tweet went viral recently, farmers have started using earmuffs for months now. It appears that the trend was started by Amy Pflugshaupt at Triple P Farm in Wisconsin.

Unfortunately, a fire occurred at the farm, and the cattle’s barn was burned down. Amy had to think outside the box to save the rest of her cattle. She was aware that she had to do something in order to prevent further loss.

First, Amy thought of using jackets. Then, she bought earmuffs for her cattle to stay warm during winter. After some trial and mistakes, Amy contacted her Aunt, Kim Ewers, who has an embroidery business.

At last, they managed to come up with a design that is useful and cute. The earmuffs are water-resistant and made with adjustable straps. They also come in various bright colors.

The two decided to sell the Moo Muffs Earmuffs on their Farm’s Facebook Page for $20 per pair. Although they weren’t expecting many orders and made only five pairs, many orders started coming in. Before they knew it, they already had a new family business started. Today, they sell from 15 to 20 earmuffs in a week.

Many cattle farmers want to protect their calves during extreme temperatures. If you want to buy earmuffs, you can contact Amy and Kim on their Facebook page.
