Animal cruelty is intentionally putting animals in situations that can harm or scare them. Abusing, neglecting or harming animals is considered a felony in many countries around the world, including the United States. Even abandoning a pet is a crime in some countries.
Animals are abused around the world every day. Animal cruelty can take many different forms, mostly because people see animals as “less valuable” than humans.
Meet Maggie, a five-year-old dog that was found in Lebanon. She had her ear cut off, a broken jaw and her eyes closed.

When she was found, she was pregnant and tied to a box. She has been beaten and shot 17 times with a shotgun, which caused her blindness. Although life hasn’t been good for her, she somehow managed to survive.
When a person saw the dog, he asked for help od social media. Fortunately, the Wild Heart Foundation animal charity saw the post and rescued her. After Maggie was rescued, she was taken to a vet and received the necessary medical treatment.
When she fully recovered, Kasey Carline from Brighton decided to adopt her. She has been an animal lover since she was a child.
Ever since Maggie was adopted, thousands of people fell in love with her and her incredible inner strength. The dog started her training to become an assistance dog after she fully recovered.
When Maggie passed the therapy dog test, Kasey informed Maggie’s followers on Instagram with a beautiful and heartwarming post.

Since she passed her test, Maggie has been visiting nursing homes, hospitals, schools and other places where everyone can feed her joy.
It’s amazing how nobody was interested in her at first, but now many people around the world are familiar with her story.
