Many people claim to love animals, but that sometimes it’s not true. Not everyone would consider saving a stray animal, providing him a temporary or even a permanent home. This doesn’t apply to one kind man from Palu, India.

He spent the last ten years saving up enough money. Wonder why? He wanted to buy a van that he can use as an animal ambulance to help the numerous stray animals in his city.

Balu is a true hero. He rescues stray animals and helps voluntarily takes sick and injured cats and dogs to vet hospitals, shelters and sometimes to his own home. Balu said that he takes the animals home when there is no room for them at animal shelters. He always has up to 6 dogs in his home, some with broken legs or paws.

When Balu started his mission, he didn’t know how things would turn out. He also admitted he was a little scared of the dogs at first. However, he managed to overcome his fear of dogs.

Balu learned how to properly take care of injured animals. He learned how to properly give them medication and even treat the animal’s wounds. Although he was scared of the dogs at first, he now knows how to properly rescue a stray dog. One of the animal rescuers who is working with Balu said that he is doing a good job and he can handle the dogs very well.

Balu also offers his services to pet owners, so that’s how he earns income to support his family. He charges 15 cents for a mile. Animal lovers appreciate Balu’s work. However, there are people who don’t like his work.

There are some people in India who think homeless dogs are pests and they often criticize Balu because he saves them. However, he doesn’t allow that to stop from continuing to do his work.
