Meet Maci, the black blind cat. He lived a happy life in a house with a loving family. Although he spent most of his day inside, he loved playing outside in the yard with other cats from the neighborhood.

However, one day Maci got out of his yard and got hit by a car. His lifeless body was lying in blood on the road and nobody even stopped to check on him.

Fortunately, one girl noticed the cat and she immediately called volunteers from a local animal shelter and told them to arrive as soon as possible. When they arrived, they saw the cat and checked if he was alive. Luckily, he was breathing, but nobody was sure if he was going to make it through the night.

Maci’s jaw was broken, one of his eyes was missing, and he had a concussion. He was in really bad shape. The volunteers rushed him to a vet hospital, and the vet performed two surgeries in order to save him. However, he didn’t promise them that he could save the poor cat.

Sadly, the cat suffered a big injury which left him totally blind. This bad experience really traumatized Maci and he lost his appetite. Usually, cats after surgery need nutritional intervention.

So, he received his nutrients and vitamins through a feeding tube. After a few weeks, he started eating on his own. But, he didn’t recover fast. He was fully healed in a few months.

His previous owners couldn’t be found or maybe they didn’t want to deal with a blind cat. It was time for him to find a new home. However, nobody wanted to adopt a cat who is totally blind. Volunteers were struggling to find the perfect home for Maci for a few months.

Finally, one loving family decided to adopt him despite his blindness. He got a second chance at life. He was adopted 7 years ago and he’s very happy with his new life.

Even though he is blind, he is a normal cat who loves to snuggle. If you want to receive updates about Maci’s life, follow him on Instagram – @maci_theblindcat.
