Lions are majestic creatures. They are the second largest big cat species in the world. Although they can usually be found in parts of Africa south of the Sahara, there are hundreds of lions living in zoo gardens around the world.

When a lioness gives birth to a cub, the lion usually doesn’t get along well with its newborn. However, that is not the case with this lion. He’s very excited to meet his newborn baby for the first time. Fortunately, the staff at the Denver Zoo managed to record a video of their meet up. Afterward, the heartwarming video was shared on Facebook and went viral.

The lioness gave birth to the 12lb cub on July 31. Since the cub was born, he spent his time just with his mom. But, the staff at the zoo decided that it was time for the cub to meet his dad. The moment finally arrived and the cub got the opportunity to meet his dad. According to the Denver Zoo’s officials, the little cub will be finally ready to appear in public for the first time.

Jake Kubié, the director of communications at Denver Zoo, said that the cub has been bonding with its family for the last couple of months. But now, the cub is ready to make a public debut in the outdoor habitat. The youngster is very energetic and curious. He loves to play with his sister.

The cub’s parents are called Neliah and Tobias, but the little one still doesn’t have a name. The zoo now wants its fans to help with the name. It has been narrowed down to Meru, which is the name of a mountain in Tanzania, or Tatu, which means number three in Swahili.

The zoo wants fans to vote and donate $1 for the three finalists.
