Religion always teaches us about kindness and compassion. It doesn’t matter if someone can return the favor, but love is the root of all religious prose.

This is a story about a kind priest who proved that love goes beyond the human. Father João Paulo Araujo Gomes, from Gravatá, Brazil, decided to open the doors of his church to homeless dogs. Before bringing dogs to his church, he takes them to the vet for a checkup.

He didn’t invite the dogs just because he wants to keep them safe, he also wants to help them find forever homes. He is hoping that people who come in for mass will fall in love with the dogs and adopt them.

Fortunately, Father Gomes was right. There are many people who come to the church and many of them decided to expand their families by adopting dogs. Who wouldn’t want to go to a church if they knew cute dogs are involved?

The priest first takes them to his rectory and shows them off during Sunday service. The dogs are at the center stage at the service so potential owners can fall in love with them. While some of the dogs fall asleep at the altar, others want to receive belly rubs.

The dogs are already feeling like they are home in the church. The kind priest also shared his news with social media platforms. Many people praised him for his kindness and compassion. Father Gomes is a hard-working community member who also works overtime to make sure that stray dogs find homes and receive the necessary medical care.

There are many homeless dogs around the world. While some of them get adopted by kind people, others are forced to spend their lives on the streets. Thankfully, this priest will set an example to other people who will help find forever homes to stray dogs.
