Dogs are known to be loyal companions around the world. However, that is not the case with Chinese people who love eating dog meat.

Animal activists saved a dog after he was shot twice with arrows by a Chinese meat trade hunter. Luckily, the dog was able to stand.

Dog lover Qiao Wei saw the dog in Chengdu, China and immediately took her to a hospital in Central China. The vet managed to safely remove the arrows and didn’t cause any further damage.

Now, the dog is in the hands of the Animal Protection Society in Qimin. They are giving medical care and attention to the dog so she can make a full recovery.

After Qiao Wei saved the dog, he has been described as a “hero”. However, the image of the dog with the two arrows disturbed many animal lovers around the world.  Many of them are glad that the dog was saved but condemn the person behind it.

The Guardians of Chinese Animal Protection shared the picture of the dog with the two arrows on Facebook. They also praised Qiao Wei for saving the dog and taking her to the hospital.

Although Chinese people are known for eating and trading dog meat, there are many people there who are against it. The image of the dog suffering angered animal lovers in China. Thousands of people around the world got worried about the dog and asked for updates.There is also the annual Yulin Dog Meat Festival, where over 10,000 dogs are slaughtered for meat. Dog meat dealers try to gather lots of dogs before the festival starts.

Many people agree that the dog meat industry is cruel, morally repulsive and has to be ended soon. Millions of dogs have already suffered and China is the world leader in the dog meat industry.
