There are many unusual friendships in the animal world, and this one between a sausage dog and seal is pretty special. Meet Aayla, the rescued seal, and Stanley, the two-year-old dachshund, who are basically best friends. We have known that dogs are friendly, but seals are not usually friendly when in a group or with other humans.

Everybody meets new friends when they go on trips or vacations. Some of us even managed to stay in touch with those friends even when we return to our normal lives.

Luckily, Aayla and Stanley fall into the latter category. Their friendship is stronger than ever. The pair met at the Sea Life Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Cornwall, when Stanley’s owner, Melanie Talbot, was on a holiday there.

When they first met, Aayla immediately straight up to the window to greet her new furry friend. Later, they spent 20 minutes posing for pictures together.

Can you name a more iconic duo?

The cute pictures were shared on Facebook by the Sea Life Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary’s official page. The pictures were captioned with the story for the dog of the week.

The sanctuary decided to share a picture of their favorite dog that visits them every week. This week’s winner was Stanley who had a fascinating moment with Aayla.

According to Melanie, Stanley may have been mistaken as a small seal because of the fleece jacket and snood he was wearing.  Nonetheless, according to the comments of the post, Aayla is a friendly seal and loves to spend some quality time with her furry friends.

I’m going to leave you with that amazing piece of information. You are welcome!
