Research has explained that domestic cats will live longer than street cats because they are more resistant to disease and have a stronger defense mechanism. Then we need to consider proper nutrition.

Every cat owner should be well aware of what cats are allowed to eat and what foods are bad for them.

Cats that live at home and receive regular care and food are thought to have a lifespan of between 12 and 15 years. Of course, there are cases where domestic cats can live up to 20 years, but it requires exceptional care, first-class nutrition, and ideal living conditions.

The world’s oldest cat, named Nutmeg, simply celebrated its 34th birthday (that’s the age of cats equal to 151 in human years).

That will make Nutmeg, the world’s oldest cat, however, to qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records, owners must display files showing their age.

He was adopted by his family only when he was two years old and was found on the street. “He ruled the house and he was wonderful,” Liz and Ian Finlay, owners of Nutmeg, told the Mirror.

Liz and Ian Finlay took the cute Nutmeg, in 1988 who was found straying around with their cat, Spice.
When they brought the kitten to the vet for a neck correction, the vet told the owners that the sweet creature was at least 2 years old.

For the past 12 months, this old cat has suffered a very dangerous stroke, but presently he is more reliable and stronger.

The owners said, “He is no longer our pet, we are his people and he will never let us forget that. Maybe that’s the secret to his long and happy life.”
