The koalas Lizzie and Phantom are now recovering outdoors in a koala ward in the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. They are doing so much better. While the mom is resting, her baby Phantom got really curious about the new surroundings and love exploring around. We hope that Lizzy will recover soon.

The bond between a mother and her baby is the strongest bond on the planet. This applies to both animals and humans. Animal moms are really devoted to their youngsters in the same way as humans are. It’s a fact that a mother will always take care of her babies and sacrifice for her youngster’s well-being no matter the species they belong to.

Now, these two koalas from Australia have proven this to be right once again.

The mom and son duo were hit by a car two weeks ago. After the car accident, they were immediately taken to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

Phantom, the 6-month-old baby was lucky enough and didn’t suffer any injuries. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with his mom. Lizzie had to undergo surgery because her lungs had collapsed and she also experienced facial trauma.

During the surgery, the baby didn’t want to leave his mommy’s side and stick with her. When the vet saw that, he realized that it would be for the best for them if they are allowed to stick to each other and provide comfort. If the son and the mom were split up, they would have been easily traumatized and feel even more anxious.

Thanks to the vets and the warmth that Phantom provided by hugging his mommy, the surgery went very well.
