We all can agree that dogs are man’s best friends. However, a puppy’s best friend can be anyone, including a cat, even if the pair become separated.

Meet Elvis, a 4-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, who had a cat best friend named Cheerio. Sadly, the dog was adopted by a new forever family but was still able to spend one last moment with his friend.

Corrinne Minard, Cheerio’s owner, said that Elvis and Cheerio were inseparable friends. They loved to play, follow each other around the house, but mostly they enjoy to cuddle and take naps together.

Minard, who works as a part-time dog breeder and university counselor, said that the two friends were so loving and playful together. But, Cheerio knew sometimes to act quite flirtatious just like any other cat. Cheerio has been living with Minard for many years and the cat is used to the dogs.

Minard also noted that it’s very funny because Cheerio sometimes wants to act and be like the dogs. However, she is aware that she is the boss in the relationship with them.

Elvis and Cheerio became even closer when Elvis’ eight sister and brothers were adopted, Corrinne added.

Sadly, the two best friends were forced to say their goodbyes on Sunday. Hopefully, they will meet each other again in the future!

Who said that cats and dogs can’t be friends? Elvis and Cheerio proved the opposite. Even though they had to say goodbye, they will always remember each other!

We are hoping that Elvis will love his new home and family. We also hope that he will remember his childhood buddy Cheerio, who was there for him when all of his siblings were adopted and he was left all alone!
