It’s a Christmas miracle! This shelter dog was adopted from the shelter hours before it was supposed to be euthanized.

Just two days before Christmas, a person entered a shelter that kills animals and fell in love with a dog who was just hours away from being euthanized. She couldn’t get the Pit Bull out of her mind, so she decided to do something and change his life. The dog’s name is Stanley and he had a severe case of mange and he couldn’t really open his eyes.

Cathy Stanley of Camp Cocker Rescue made a video of the Pit Bull at the shelter, located in Los Angeles. Although she didn’t know where would he go, she still pulled Stanley out of the shelter. She got him out and she immediately started him on his medical rehab.

She also made a video named ‘Just One Dog’ video and started sending e-mails like crazy, begging people to help her find him a forever home. Watch the heartwarming video about his rescue. It shows how “just one dog” can inspire many people to work together to make a Christmas miracle.

 

Her video and plea spread immediately went viral. After a pair from Canada received the email with the video, they decided to help. Dave Schofield of Respect-A-Bull, a foster-based Pit Bull Terrier rescue on Vancouver Island, called Cathy on Christmas Day and said he wanted to take Stanley. People donated enough money to send Stanley to Port Alberni, British Columbia and he went into foster care right away!

Although many people were interested to adopt Stanley after the “Just one dog” video, he was adopted by a couple who had never seen the video. Josh and Teresa Caufield adopted Stanley because they immediately fell in love with Stanley’s happy and friendly personality.

Four years later, Stanley is having a wonderful life with his new family. His time on death-row is just a distant memory. Because of Stanley’s amazing rescue, Camp Cocker and Respect-A-Bull continue to work together in order to help save other dogs like Stanley.
