Last week, a cat named Dennis Quaid was introduced to the public. The cat is currently staying at the Lynchburg Humane Society and needs a new owner.
It didn’t take long for the cat to find a forever home. This weekend he will be traveling to his new forever home. What makes this story incredible is the guy who decided to adopt him – Hollywood actor, musician, and podcaster Dennis Quaid.
Even though he didn’t plan to get a cat, the same name changed everything. As soon as he heard about the cat named after him staying at the Lynchburg Humane Society, the Hollywood actor couldn’t resist. He even said: “I am out to save all the Dennis Quaids in the world!”
The cat was featured during a newscast on 10 News last week and he caught the actor’s attention.
Quaid also noted he and Jimmy Jelinked are also producing a pet show which turned out to be the actor’s favorite.

At first, Danielle Ulmer, the Adoption Center Manager at the society, thought that someone was making a prank.
When Jellinek reached out to the shelter, it took a while for the staff to believe him.
Once Jellinek convinced the shelter staff that he and Quaid weren’t making a prank, they got to meet their new office pet online. This weekend Jellinek will fly to Lynchburg in order to pick up the cat.
Quaid made a joke saying that if animals in shelters are named after different celebrities, the adoption rates will definitely increase.
We are so glad that the Hollywood actor decided to adopt the cat even though he didn’t want a pet!
