Animal testing is any scientific experiment that causes animals pain, suffering, distress, or harm. It’s a global problem and many cosmetic companies still test their products on animals.
This story is about a Beagle who lived in a cage for 6 years. His name is Echo. Fortunately, the Beagle Freedom Project rescued the dog and other Beagles in China. Most of them were eager to leave their cages and run free, but not Echo. It seems that the trauma took its toll.
The company that conducted animal testing, put chemicals in Echo’s eyes to test a product. As a result of the chemicals, Echo went blind. She needed a medical checkup.

The poor dog was in need of a special foster who would help her navigate outside a cage. So, a woman named Hanna volunteered to foster Echo.
When Hannah brought Echo home, it was the first time for the Beagle to be in a house. Hannah has another dog named Gigi, who is usually feisty. However, Gigi immediately knew that something different about Echo. She sniffed her and then Gigi knew that Echo needed a very patient friend.
It took a while for Echo to get used to her new life. Fortunately, she wanted to play and even wagged her tail happily after spending 2 days with her foster mom and her new sibling.
When Hanna brought Echo to the vet, the doctor wanted to remove one of Echo’s eyes. He believed that this surgery will help with her pain.
Once her eye was removed, the shy Beagle really came out of her shell. She was finally ready to start living her new life. So, a couple who fell in love with Echo decided to adopt her. Jenna and Jay couldn’t wait to pick her up and bring her home!
When Eco went inside the house, she took a tour and even met her new siblings: dogs and a cat. She finally felt like a part of a family. Her new life continues to evolve. The couple who adopted her even welcomed a baby boy into the world and Echo is really smitten!
