In September 2019, a beautiful beluga whale followed a diver and pinched his Kayaker’s GoPro at Hammerfest Bay in Norway.

The diver, whose name is Joachim Larssen, was leaving the Bay when the whale came to him in all calmness. Meanwhile, he was putting on his kayak when the whale touched his vessel. The whale seemed quite inquisitive as it followed Joachim. The whale’s name was Hvaldimir.

Joachim took no chances, he immediately seized the opportunity he had with the whale to take some beautiful footage of the beautiful and friendly whale. Like the whale could understand what the diver was doing, it came closer to the camera, gazing at it and showing off its incredible details. While the diver was trying to get a clearer view before taking the footage, his camera fell off. Within a moment, the whale showed off its kindness as it helped retrieve and return the camera.

Joachim was astonished by this gesture from a whale. He touched and petted the whale, he even got to see the details on its skin. Hvaldimir was at the top of the moon, eyeing Joachim. It seemed really happy as it opened its mouth showing two rows of teeth. “It had so many teeth, it ran all the way up into the back of his mouth,” Joachim said

Joachim seemed certain that it was the Russians who trained the whale, and it knew what a GoPro is, as it was found with a harness. Joachim said he wanted to video it before his camera fell off, and he wanted to touch it, but he was scared. He, however, had to make exceptions because of how much it wanted to play. Joachim also said it was really magical to physically see and play with a whale in such a close rage. It was a record for him as it hadn’t happened before.

Initially, the whale had gained fame earlier in 2019. It was believed that the whale was used by the Russian navy in Norwegian waters as a spy.
