Meet Zimes, the black cat with a unique face! He can’t put his tongue back to his mouth, so it’s always out. However, he wasn’t born this way. His unusual appearance is a result of a vicious attack by a dog when he was just 4 weeks old.

Margot Tamar Riemer rescues animals in need most of the time. One day, she received a call that a pitbull owner released his dogs in order to kill cats on streets, just for fun. She went to the scene as soon as possible and saw dead cats who were missing limbs and injured cats who managed to stay alive somehow. Zimes was one of the injured cats. Riemer said that she had never seen anything so evil before.

Zimes managed to survive the attack and was later, fully recovered. However, he lost his lower jaw so now his tongue is always out. Riemer is so grateful that the black kitty survived, but she prays the police will catch the guy who is behind this cruel act will.

Riemer got Zimes when he was just three months old. His mouth looked normal after the brutal attack. But, after 2 months, Riemer noticed that Zimes’ tongue was starting to poke out. But, that didn’t bother the girl at all because she loves helping and adopting cats with special needs, just like Zimes.

Riemer suffers from cystic fibrosis – a serious disease that affects lungs, pancreas and other organs. As a result of the disease, Riemer developed a special affinity for animals that need special needs. She says the bond between her and Zimes is incredibly special and loves the cat more than anything!

Next time you are at the shelter or see a post online about a cat or dog with special needs, don’t just pass by or scroll. These animals also deserve to be loved, no matter what!
