Animals on the streets aren’t there because of their choice. People abandoned them once they don’t want a pet anymore. The number of abandoned animals increases every day around the world, not just in the United States.
Fortunately, there are rescue groups and animal lovers who save animals from the streets. One of those groups is the Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
They recently found a dog with an injured foot. Their plan was to rescue the dog, but they weren’t aware that they will rescue even more dogs.
After rescuing the dog, they discovered that she had milk. It appears that the dog was a new mom and her puppies were somewhere nearby. Rescuers immediately went out to search for them.
They went right to the place where the mom was living to check if her pups were still there. Rescuers searched in the bushes and put the branches aside until they finally found a little den.
Inside the den, there was a hole in the ground that was like a safe place for the puppies. There were 13 of them and the mom did an amazing job hiding them and keeping them warm and safe.

Rescuers gently took the puppies and placed them into a container one by one before. Then, they reunited the puppies with their mama. After the reunion, the mom and her puppies received the medical care they needed.
Because of the injured leg, the mom has to undergo surgery. When it comes to the puppies, all of them will be spayed and neutered. When they are old enough, they will put up for adoption.
