In China, pets aren’t respected as much as in other countries. Recently, something horrific was caught on camera. A poor dog was dragged from a bike on the road for a while and was severely injured during the process. The disturbing video was shared on social media and it sparked outrage.

The husky’s owner is the daughter of the man who was on the bike. A concerned citizen filmed a video of the ordeal which took place in Pu’er city last week. He also mentioned that the dog was bleeding because it was dragged on its belly for a while.

In the video, you can see the dog is dragged across the road while it’s struggling to move his back feet to put himself in a better position. While the dog was whimpering and pulled by a leash, the man on the bide didn’t care about it.

The daughter of the biker apologized for her father’s horrific actions right after the video was shared on social media in China. She said that her family was supposed to take care of her dog because she was at work that day. However, her family didn’t know how to take care of properly od the husky. She promised to be more careful in the future.

After she found out what happened, she took her dog to the vet. The skin of the dog’s belly was peeled off.  The man who shot the video confirmed that the dog was severely injured. He also said that the dog may have been dragged for a long time.

Social media users were disgusted with the video and the poor treatment of the animal. Some of them said that if the daughter doesn’t want the pet anymore, she should put it up for adoption instead of letting her father abuse the poor creature. Others condemned the biker for his horrific actions and blamed the owner for not taking proper care of her own pet.

China’s laws about pets aren’t strict as in other countries. Probably the biker and the dog’s owner won’t be charged for their actions.

Although animal rights activists have drafted a law on the Protection of Animals, no progress has been made. Hopefully, that will change soon enough.
