Pet owners love showing off their pets by sharing photos and videos on social media. Who doesn’t like seeing some adorable pets on their feed? However, not all videos are cute. Some pet owners decide to abuse their pets or harm them on purpose as a “prank”.
Recently, a video that was shared on Snapchat has prompted an investigation by a humane society.
The video which originates from Treasure Valley, Idaho, shows a woman that is boxing her dog. She is intentionally punching the poor creature on the head with boxing gloves. While she’s hitting the dog, it seems that two friends are enjoying the scene and act like it’s nothing serious.
One of the friends comments: “We’re boxing animals. Where’s Sarah McLachlan,” referring to her SPCA commercials.

It’s obvious that the woman isn’t holding anything back. She knocked the dog down and he starts crying in distress. At the end of the video, the woman admitted that she hit the dog so hard.
Viewers were extremely shocked by the video and wondered how can anyone think that this was a good thing to do.
The user that shared the video changed her account to private. One of her followers reached out to the boxing woman, who defended her actions via text. She said that the dog plays hard so she had to hit him even harder with gloves. However, she confirmed that she played with her dog and she would never let him get hurt.
An investigation was launched, which is potentially leading to an animal cruelty charge. The Idaho Humane Society said that they are going to take action against the woman.
We really hope that the dog will receive some justice. There are numerous cases of animal abuse that are disguised as harmless fun online. We are hoping that this case will make people think twice before they exploit their pets.
