Dogs are amazing creatures who love making their owners happy. They will never leave you and they will love you forever. They don’t say the dog is man’s best friend for nothing!

A 2-month-old Chihuahua puppy named Alex was adopted by a loving family in Naples, Florida. However, their happiness lasted just for a year because the puppy disappeared.

Although the Stone family had a dog named Thunder, they also decided to adopt Alex the Chihuahua back in 2013. The YOUR Humane Society SPCA, which is located in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, confirmed this.

However, the Stone family decided that it was time for Thunder to move away with another relative. Alex didn’t like this, so he was very upset. One day, when Alex was in the yard, he decided to dig a hole and leave in order to find his brother.

The Stone family got really worried and started searching for Alex, but with no luck. Many weeks, months, even years passed by and there was no sign of Alex.

However, everything changed this year when a man found the Chihuahua in Sumter County, which is 225 miles away from Naples. Then, the man brought the dog to YOUR Humane Society SPCA. The staff scanned his microchip and discovered that the dog’s name was Alex.

They contacted the Stone family and reunited them with their dog on Valentine’s weekend. The family was worried that Alex wouldn’t recognize them, but as soon as he saw them he started jumping for joy.

The family cried and couldn’t stop hugging their long lost dog. Alex was finally back and he was so happy!

This is why you should microchip your dog. If Alex didn’t have a microchip, he wouldn’t have been reunited with his family.

A microchip is the main factor to get your pet returned when something bad happens.
