A doctor decided to start his own family practice clinic. Many people thought he would fail, but his clinic with video games and therapy cats is full just 6 months after opening.

Dr. Powers lost his house to fire, including his beloved cats Arcturus, Sirius and Cygnus. This tragedy devastated him and he couldn’t recover mentally and physically from it for a year. Instead of going back to work, he decided to start his own family practice clinic.

He decided to theme the practice around his interests, which are cats and video games. When he told some colleagues about his plans, they said that it would be a complete failure because people want to go to a sterile, simple, professional-looking place for medical care. However, Powers didn’t listen to his colleagues and he rented a small office space near the ruins of his old home. Even though he opened the clinic 6 months ago, the clinic became the #1 patient-rated family practice in our state.

The therapy cats are all exotic hybrids who don’t have the Fel D1 gene in their saliva, so people who are allergic to cats are unaffected by them. Powers had a patient who is so allergic to cats that she carries an epi-pen for it come to the office. She pet one of the cats and started crying because she loves cats but wasn’t able to pet one for more than 30 years. The cats can go through the offices but aren’t allowed in sterile zones.

The doors of this clinic are open to anyone. They are friendly and cater to the LGBT population, commercial sex workers, polyamorous patients, HIV+ patients and other people who feel like they can’t be open and honest with their doctor. They don’t care what anybody thinks, they just want to keep their patients safe and healthy.

Powers expected that it would take years for him to develop the practice. However, he opened 6 months ago, and as of today, the clinic is completely full. He is taking care of over 1000 patients in the practice. He is also looking into expansion options and hiring some help so that he can accept new patients, but for now, that has to wait.
