The fires in Australia have caught the world’s attention and people have been trying to help as much as they can.

The ongoing wildfires started in Australia in September and are still ravaging throughout the country. The main causes of the damage the wildfires have inflicted are heat, drought, lightning strikes, arson and lack of hazard reduction.

Bindi, Steve Irwin’s daughter, assured her followers on social media that her family is safe and doing everything they can to help the animals in need.

Bindi also shared a picture of a burnt possum that was admitted at the Wildlife Hospital. Sadly, Blossom, the possum didn’t make it. There is a team at the hospital who works day and night to help the animals in need.

As Bindi pointed out, every day is a battle to stand up and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Now, everyone needs to work together to make a difference and protect our planet.

Many people thanked her and her family for helping the animals. Nonetheless, we need more people like the Irwin family in this world!

As the fires continue to rage on, officials have shared the numbers that show the damage and loss inflicted on Australia. Approximately 6,300,000 hectares were burnt and 2,500 buildings. As of January 4th, 2020, 24 people died in the fires and 6 others are missing.

In addition, firefighters from New Zealand, the United States, and Canada have arrived in Australia to help their colleagues. Everyone is trying to put out the fire and help those in need. However, the fires have made an enormous impact on the environment. It is estimated that half a billion animals, including 8,000 koalas, have lost their lives due to the fires.
