German shepherds are majestic, loyal and amazing companions for both adults and children. They are usually known for their intelligence. These dogs can be trained from an early age, which makes them perfect for jobs such as therapy or rescue dogs, even police officers!
Do you remember Rex? The German shepherd that starred in a TV show called “Inspector Rex” and helped the Austrian criminal police to solve crimes. He is the perfect example that dogs can become amazing police officers.
Besides helping the police, these dogs are also good for dock diving, testing protection equipment, and guiding the blind. German shepherds can do so many amazing things, including rehabilitate injured and orphaned animals.

Meet Sarge, a German shepherd that lives in Ohio. His home is surrounded by nature, so he’s used to all kinds of wildlife, especially deers.
This is Sarge. He helps save injured and orphaned wildlife in his area. I’m told he loves all animals, but gets the most attached to fawns. 14/10 good boy Sarge pic.twitter.com/Zlv65hDxxE

Sarge lives a normal life, but he often knows how to step up and help those in need. His owners introduce him to different animal species, including fawns and baby deers. When these animals need extra care, Sarge is more than happy to help. He makes his owners very proud.
Sarge made friends many new friends over the years. He loves to keep them company while they heal before they go back to the wild. The dog even shares his food, water, blankets, and napping spots. Just take a look at this fawn who looks very comfortable, thanks to Sarge.
Although they are of different species, that doesn’t matter to them. Their friendship is the sweetest thing. The young deer is feeling happy and safe living with Sarge.
Fawns usually stay with their mothers until they become strong enough to take care of themselves. But, when they lose their mothers, someone else has to take care of them. Fortunately, Sarge has a big heart who loves all animals, but mostly fawns!
