It’s devastating to lose a pet. However, have you ever thought about how animals feel when they lose their owners? Besides the emotional impact, losing an owner means the pet has to find a new home.

That was the case with these two dogs name Tonka and Little P. Their owner died trying to save them. Although they don’t have an owner right now, they still have each other.

Unfortunately, not everything goes by the plan in life. When he went on a hike with his dogs and his friend Mark in Colorado last week, things went wrong. The group somehow got lost. After being lost for 2 days, they desperately needed water.

When Kris spotted a creek, he went down the canyon to get some water. The dogs were with him. Unfortunately, the three of them fell to the bottom of the canyon, but only Kris died.

Mark lit a signal fire and a rescue team found him the next day. The rescue team also saved the dogs who never left Kris’ side.

The dogs were brought to Kris’ family. Unfortunately, they were grieving and overwhelmed with funeral expenses. So, they couldn’t afford to pay for the dogs’ medical treatment. Both dogs survived the fall, but Little P had a broken jaw and Tonka had a broken leg.

When Mr. Bones & Co., an animal non-profit organization, heard about the dogs, they stepped in to help. They raised money through a GoFundMe campaign and paid for the dogs’ medical treatments. Tonka went under surgery and his brother never left his side.

Now, both of them are healthy and happy. But, they need a new home. If you are interested, you can visit their adoption page!
