Rachael Ray is most known for her amazing chef skills, but she’s also known for being a huge animal lover and advocate for animal rights.

Last month, she announced that she will donate $4 million to COVID-19 relief projects through her Rachael Ray Foundation and her Yum-o! Organization. Half of those funds will be transferred to animal welfare organizations, such as North Shore Animal League and Lost Our Home Rescue.

The celebrity chef has a rescue Pit Bull and she was the main reason why this animal issue is close to Ray’s heart. Unfortunately, her 15-year-old dog Isaboo died this week. Ray and her husband John Cusimano shared the sad news of  Isaboo’s passing on Instagram, stating that she had a huge role during the quarantine shows.

The couple is very thankful for their time spent with Isaboo. Sadly, they are having a hard time adjusting to life without her. Ray said that the dog taught her about unconditional love, empathy, and understanding of each other.

The dog was suffering from Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), arthritis, and other conditions that are associated with old age. So, Isaboo had to wear a custom bilateral tarsal brace. It really helped her with the pain in her shoulders, spine, and hips.

The chef was inspired to become an advocate for rescuing animals during the pandemic. The couple will help another animal in need because that is what Isaboo would have wanted.

The North Shore Animal League, a rescue and adoption organization, praised the couple on Instagram about their dedication to animal welfare.

Ray has a huge fan base and they all appreciated the chef’s commitment to furry companions. Many of them expressed their condolences and love for the dog on Twitter and Instagram.

Ray appreciates all the comments on behalf of the family and the late dog. She is very thankful to her fans for their huge love and support.

May Isaboo rest in peace!
