Tia Powell was walking along a path at a park near her home when she saw the squirrel. She didn’t think much of it and continued walking. However, the squirrel had something else on her mind and grabbed Powell’s sweatpants. This unusual situation came as a shock to Powell and left her speechless.

Although Powell tried to chase the squirrel away, the little animal seemed determined on getting her to stop. “She came right back,” Powell said. “Something told me to see what would happen, so I stopped and watched her.”
By stopping, Powell did a good thing. Having Powell’s full attention, the squirrel started moving and lead Powell to a place near the path where someone else was waiting.
“She had a baby squirrel with her,” Powell said. The baby squirrel had an injured leg and couldn’t move. Although Powell wasn’t sure what to do, she immediately picked up the baby squirrel and moved it to a safer spot.
According to Powell, the mom squirrel was very happy when she helped. “So, after I thought my deed was done, I went on about my day,” Powell said.
But when she turned around, she saw that the squirrels were following her.
Powell stopped again and noticed that the mother and baby needed more help. She realized that there was an obvious threat nearby – a black cat was walking in the area. Powell chased the cat away.
According to her, the baby squirrel’s injured leg slowed him down which put him in danger. So, Powell turned to the police and a wildlife specialist for help. Together, they made a decision and moved the squirrels to a different area of the park.
Thanks to Powell, the squirrels are now in a safe spot.

A few days later, she came back to the spot with her children. Her youngest son noticed a few squirrels who were starring. Powell believes that those were the same squirrels that she saved before. It seems that Powell’s kindness hadn’t been forgotten. The whole experience is still on her mind, too.
