Stray dogs have many struggles living on the streets. However, this story is about a dog who is a true hero.
Although this stray dog named Billy would not have survived on his own, he was fighting for his life. A couple spotted the stray dog when he passed their house. The man, named Bill, saw the dog outside his window so he immediately called his wife Krista to come over and look at the dog.
Krista and Bill called a rescue team for help. When the team arrived, they went to the nearby woods to find the white dog. Finally, they found Billy and he was immediately taken to the vet’s office. The dog was starved and thirsty. He was just skin and bones.
When the dog was at the vet’s office, the couple were there as well. When Krista looked in Billy’s eyes, she immediately fell in love with him. Although the dog was in pain, he didn’t want to give up on his life.

Billy was starving, but the vet decided to give him food gradually in order to keep things down. Although nobody was sure that Billy would survive, a lot of people were rooting for him.
Fortunately, Billy was fighting hard for his health. It appears the IV fluids and nutrition were really helping him. His energy was improving, and he could move around easier.
When Billy’s medical bills started piling up, the couple established a fundraiser called “Saving Billy”. Fortunately, there were many people kind enough to donate for Billy’s bills.
The dog was nurtured to health so he left the vet’s office. Although Krista wanted to foster Billy, she knew that her husband wouldn’t change her mind. When Billy was transferred to Krista’s home, she was more than happy to give him the special diet and physiotherapy. He started putting on weight and felt very good at his new temporary home. He also gained a new dog sibling called Remington. As soon as they met, they become inseparable.
Although Billy was supposed to be temporary in Krista’s home, she decided to adopt him. Now, Billy lives a happy life, thanks to his new mom.
We are so thankful that this dog got a second chance at life. We need more kind-hearted people like Krista and Bill in this world!
