A bad-tempered teenager who stabbed a pet cockatiel and said to the police that it was just a bird so it’s not a crime, has been banned from keeping any pets in the future.

In addition to the ban, the 18-year-old boy named Aaron Ray was also handed a suspended 12-week jail term after the cruel attack in which he stabbed and killed the bird in South Hylton, Sunderland at the beginning of the year.

After several reports of a disturbance, Northumbria Police arrived in Ray’s home and found the pet bird dead.

According to the police, Ray of Mayfield Road, Sunderland, showed up at the South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on June 26. After the cruel teen admitted that he caused unnecessary suffering to his pet, he received a 12-week jail term.

The court also decided to ban Ray from keeping animals for the next 15 years.

Wildlife officer Peter Baker said that there are many animal lovers in the country, so it’s really heartbreaking to see this kind of animal incidents in which someone causes unnecessary suffering to an animal.

He is also hoping that Ray’s conviction will be a lesson to other animal abusers. Those who will cause unnecessary suffering to an innocent animal will face criminal charges and possible jail time.

It’s obvious that Ray isn’t a pet person. He doesn’t even realize that even animals have feelings. Despite the fact that it was a bird, all animals can suffer when they are stabbed.

We are hoping that many people can learn from Ray’s mistake. If you don’t like pets, then don’t get a pet! It’s simple as that, right? No animal deserves to be stabbed in a cruel way.
