A story of a courageous 14-year old boy who saves a cat hanging off the over-bridge on a highway after being tossed outside of a moving car.

Gavin Brown is a hero! When his mom Erin was driving on a highway Sunday, February 12, taking her son to a birthday party, she was shocked by what she saw.

Someone tossed a cat out of the window from a moving vehicle right in front of them. She decided to stop immediately and Gavin, rushed out of the car and signaled other vehicles to stop, so he can save the poor cat.

Gavin ran to the overpass right by his mom and jumped on top of the overpass to save the cat.

Gavin immediately got out of the car, ran to the bridge and took the traumatized cat. His mom was shocked when he jumped out of the car onto the highway to rescue the poor cat.

As a result of the trauma, the cat was breathing so heavy. His nails were torn off from trying to grip the pavement too hard. The kitty was so grateful so he didn’t want to let go off his rescuer.

The cat cuddled in Gavin’s lap and Gavin was showering him with hugs and love in order to gain the cat’s trust.

Gavin named the cat Lucky and he took him to BluePearl Animal Hospital, where the staff gave him meds to relieve the pain.

Lucky’s story was shared on Facebook and one good man offered to pay for Lucky’s medical expenses. “My heart just swelled with gratitude,” Gavin said.

Fortunately, Lucky is doing very well and recovering in his new home.

This boy is such a hero with a big heart for animals! He has always wanted to be a veterinarian and now, he is determined to make that happen.
