Fostering is one of the kindest things that you can ever do for an animal. Foster parents give the animals a chance to temporarily live in a loving environment until they find their forever home. But, being a foster parent is not always easy and you have to be a very compassionate person.

Take Seneca Krueger for instance. She is a huge animal lover who lives in St. Paul, Minnesota. She has fostered around 40 dogs over many years. But, her latest foster dog proved that she was meant to stay with Seneca forever.

Seneca fostered a dog named Zelda for seven months. When Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue were searching for a foster parent, they picked Seneca.

When Zelda arrived at Seneca’s home, she was a shy dog who could easily get scared. The poor dog was even scared of her own shadow and didn’t wag her tail in the first two months. She started barking after being with Seneca for 4 months.

Luckily, the dog made enough progress and she was finally ready for adoption. In January, a family from Chanhassen decided to adopt Zelda.

Although Seneca was sad and heartbroken after saying goodbye to Zelda, she knew that the dog will be living in a loving home. But, 10 days after being adopted, the dog ran away.

Zelda’s new family and Seneca started searching for the missing pup.

Many people spotted Zelda, who was trying to get to St. Paul. She’s been walking 97 days. Eventually, she was seen near Seneca’s home. One of the neighbors saw Zelda and she started leaving food out for her.

Thanks to her, Seneca was able to catch Zelda. The foster mom knew that they were meant to be together forever since their bond was so strong and unbreakable.

This incredible story can teach us about true love and loyalty!
