Everyone needs a best friend in life that will love and support us no matter what. Animals also need best friends just like humans do. For example, it’s unusual for a coyote and a badger or a tiger and a puppy to form friendships.
Although some people believe that animals are dumb creatures, animals are able to feel love and compassion just like humans do. There are many uncommon friendships between different species, and this one is between a piglet and a kitten.

Meet Laura the piglet and Marina the kitten! They met at the animal sanctuary called Santuario Igualdad Interespecie, which is located in Santiago, Chile.
Marina was a weak and sick kitten, so her mother decided to abandon her. Although she was left on her own, one kind citizen saved Marina’s life and brought her to the sanctuary.
The case with Laura is different. Her mother is a breeder pig, so she was born to be slaughtered. Fortunately, kind-hearted animal activists found out about her and decided to save her from the meat industry. The piglet was so frightened when she was brought to the sanctuary.
Although Laura and Marina were saved just several days apart from each other, they immediately became friends. Marina even helped the little piglet relax and calm down.
They love sleeping next to each other, cuddle, and play. When one of them is sleeping, the other one is waiting patiently for the sleeping friend to wake up so they can play together.
The piglet and the kitten manage to find comfort in each other and share one of the most unusual but beautiful friendships. Even though they aren’t the same species, they don’t let their differences ruin their friendship.
It seems that nature can always find a way to surprise us with numerous cases of unusual interspecies friendships.
