A therapy puppy was stolen from its home, the dog’s owner is an 8-year-old boy called Dominic Yule, who suffers from autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. Therapy dogs have the power to reduce the length of meltdowns or even prevent it from happening. The theft has been reported to the police.

Now, New South Wales Police Force is looking for Kamia, a 6-month-old French Bulldog puppy. She was stolen from her home in Minerva Street, Kirrawee, in southern Sydney.

Monique Yule, Dominic’s mother, said that the puppy was playing in the backyard when the thieves broke the lock on the gate and stole her. Now, the family is desperately searching for Kamia. The thieves stole the dog 2 weeks ago and there is still no sign of her.

The NWS Police Force shared a picture of the dog on Facebook, asking other citizens to help. They revealed: “The puppy is believed to have been stolen from a residence on Minerva Street, Kirrawee. The puppy was last seen between the hours of 7.30 pm Thursday 16 January 2020 and 7.00 am Friday 17 January 2020.”

Dominic’s condition is bad and he needs to be under constant supervision of his therapy dog. Ever since Kamia was stolen, he’s been very upset. The sad boy said “Would you please give my dog back?” when TV personnel asked him how he felt.

Unfortunately, the family can’t afford another therapy dog if Kamia is not found. They leave the gates unlocked, hoping that the thieves will return the puppy.
