A 9-week-old puppy was stolen from a family in Melbourne. Fortunately, this story has a happy ending.

The Labrador puppy named Daisy was stolen from the backyard last Friday. Anna Ezzy bought the puppy for her 7-year-old daughter Sophie as an early birthday present.

Unfortunately, when Daisy was snatched from the backyard in their home in Kensington, Sophie was devastated and heartbroken. The puppy was stolen around 12.45 and 1.15 pm.

While talking to 7NEWS, Anna Ezzy said that the puppy became a part of their family very quickly. Her daughter instantly bonded with Daisy.

The family was at home when the theft occurred. While Anna was inside the house, she heard some noise coming from the backyard. A short time later she went out and noticed that a section of corrugated fencing was pulled back and Daisy was gone.

During the weekend, the family issued a plea in which they ask the thief to return Daisy and even offered a $1000 reward. Anna said that the thief doesn’t have to even reveal himself since the dog is microchipped. She asked the thief to leave the dog at any vets office and she will pick it up.

It seems the plea was seen by those who took the puppy. The thief decided to leave the 9-week-old puppy on a street near Anna’s house on Tuesday.

Fortunately, the puppy was found by a kind citizen who took the puppy to the vet where his microchip was scanned, confirming it was Daisy.

The family was over the moon when they were reunited with their lovely dog. Anna shared the good news on Facebook, confirming Daisy was finally at home. She also expressed her gratitude to the lady in Flemington who found Daisy.

The Labrador puppy came home just in time for Sophie’s birthday celebration last Friday
