For more than 30 years, Bill Farmer has been voice the voice of Mickey Mouse’s most famous cartoon dogs, Pluto and Goofy. Now, he will also be the voice of Disney’s new series, which stars the man’s best friend. The series is called “It’s a Dog’s Life” and the first episode will premiere on Friday, May 15 on Disney+.

If you thought that this was Disney’s idea, you are wrong. It was Farmer who pitched the series to Disney. A few years ago, the actor and his friend Steve Duval, who happens to be a cameraman, were recording videos at an equestrian center in Reno, Nevada. There are many dogs in the area. Farmer said that the videos of him playing with the dogs really inspired him.

At first, the duo wanted to work wanted to pitch the project to PBS and Animal Planet. However, a Disney publicity executive changed their mind. Even Don Hahn, the director of “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King” helped Farmer with the pitch. Disney fell in love with the idea and even decided to buy 10 episodes. A new episode will be aired every Friday for 10 weeks.

Later in the series, he’ll meet with mascot dogs, companion dogs, and guide dogs. Pluto and Goofy will appear as special guests in each episode.

The show celebrates dogs and everything they do for us. It also explains why humans have such special connections with them. In the new trailer, we can see lots of wagging tails from dogs who help people every day.
