Masha has spent her whole life on the streets, and knowing how cold and severe the Russian winters are, we know she doesn’t have it easy. A cat from Obninsk, Russia is being declared as a hero after saving a baby who was left in a box outside on the streets in freezing temperatures.

The long-haired tabby cat climbed into the box where he was discarded in, and kept him warm, health officials said.
The hospital spokesman told Central European News that the 12-weeks-old baby had only been outside for a few hours and thanks to Masha, he was not damaged by the experience.

The story of the stray cat and her heroic deed only confirm this fact that animals are incredibly friendly.
City resident Irina Lavrova says that when she heard her meowing, she thought that perhaps she had injured herself, but then she was shocked when she saw her lying in a box next to a baby.

The sweet boy was well-dressed with a little hat, and whoever left him in a box, had even left a few nappies and some baby food. The little freezing angel was immediately rushed to the local hospital, where he was given a checkup and declared fit and healthy.

Luckily, the little one was doing great and now authorities are launching a search for the parents who abandoned him. Since the child was found, Masha has been hailed as a hero by residents, and everyone from the block was proud of her.
