Heidi a German Shepherd is being declared as a hero after treading water for 11 hours to save her owner’s life.
She was by her owner’s side when the boat went down and this beautiful girl is now being hailed a heroine for helping to save his life. Еven though she could swim, Heidi didn’t leave her owner after they capsized.

The Queensland Police released explaining that police in Moreton Bay was aware of a potentially disastrous situation by a fisherman. During the investigation, they found a dog in the water, along with other items from a boat.

When Heidi was quickly pulled out of the water, she was immediately taken to a veterinarian for a check-up, while Brisbane Water Police continued to look for her owner.

The owner of the pup’s 63 years old man was found holding on to a boat in Moreton Bay just hours later. He reportedly told police that the boat lost control and had filled up with water.

Police said that Heidi had unbelievably been treading water for about eleven hours while she waited for help. Her owner was transported to a local hospital with no serious injuries.

While she waited for her owner to return from the hospital, she was allocated to the police department, where she enjoyed some food and rest.

“We would take this opportunity to remind boaties to plan for the worst when they’re out on the water,” Senior Sergeant Jay Bairstow of the Brisbane Water Police said, according to the release. “Always wear [a] personal flotation device and ensure that your safety equipment [is] tested and in good order.”

He added: “Thankfully there was a happy ending to this search and Heidi was able to be our honorary PD for the day.”
