Kerry McKinnon currently lives in Australia and shares her home with a dog named Asha. One morning, Kerry saw something surprising. Her husband called her to go out and look at something unusual: their five-year-old dog was sitting outside with a baby koala on her back.
The dog wasn’t scared of the baby koala nor she was trying to get rid of it. The 45-year-old from Strathdownie in western Victoria said the dog was so happy to let the koala snuggled into her.
Asha, Golden Retriever, became a hero after saving the baby koala. Kerry said that one morning, her husband yelled out to her to go outside to look at something. She was surprised when she saw a tiny koala snuggled on top of Asha.

It seems that the baby koala fell out of his mum’s pouch and got lost. The koala didn’t know what to do so he grabbed onto the first thing he saw.
If the tiny koala didn’t snuggle into Kerry’s dog, there is a change that he would have died in the night. Asha is a real hero! The woman believes that dogs have protective instincts. Even the marsupial didn’t want to leave Asha’s back.
