There are many strays and homeless animals around the world. These abandoned animals wander the streets, searching for food and home. Unfortunately, they learned that sometimes trusting humans can be a bad idea.

Luckily, there are organizations around the world that rescue animals from streets, like this non-profit Howl of a Dog. This rescue organization is located in Romania. Their main goal is to save animals before it’s too late.

Meet Zuzi, who used to be a stray. Her owners abandoned her and she was forced to spend a whole winter alone on the streets. She didn’t have any shelter and it was hard for her to find food. This bad experience and being chased by dogcatchers really traumatized Zuzi who stopped trusting humans.

Volunteers from the Howl of a Dog rescue her from a parking lot where she used to live. They had to react fast before she ended up in the city pound. According to reports, Zuzi sometimes received food scraps from humans. However, the dogcatchers really traumatized her with their usual methods. This made it really hard for the volunteers to save her from the streets.

Volunteers contacted a vet and tranquilized Zuzi so they could mover her to a safer place. After she was saved, she realized that these humans just wanted to help her. Watch the video below so you can see how Zuzi is wagging her tail and how badly she needed help. Fortunately, now she is surrounded by the love she deserves.

After receiving therapy, she is doing so much better. However, it took some time for her to get used to being led on a walk.  A loving family from Canada adopted Zuzi and now she lives a happy life. She loves to run and play in a fenced backyard.

Although Zuzi didn’t trust anyone because of strangers, she eventually got over it. Her sad story is with a happy ending. After seeing her amazing transformation, we are thankful to the family who adopted her!
