When the Golden Retriever named Ponzu and his owner were mourning the death of their cat Wasabi, they decided to take in a tiny kitten that was rejected by its mother.
Ponzu’s owner usually fosters rescue kittens, so the Golden Retriever also wants to help in taking care of them just like a big brother. It’s safe to say that Ponzu loved all the rescue cats he met so far. He is such a sweet dog!
However, when the tiny cat named Ichimi entered their home 7 years ago, it was very special. As soon as Ponzu saw the kitten, he knew that they will have a special bond.
It seems that Ponzu realized that the kitten was so helpless so he decided to be his caretaker and help her survive. The duo instantly became inseparable. The kitten never had anyone take care of her before. But now Ponzu loves to clean, take care, and provide body heat to tiny Ichimi.

When Ponzu’s owner took the tiny kitten, she needed to be fed with a bottle in order to survive. But, she wasn’t the only kitten in the house.
There were several kittens and Ponzu took care of them. He even watches them when they play together! Can you ask for a better babysitter?
Ponzu is a very patient dog who lets Ichimi practice on him how to be her own kind.
Ichimi loves spending time with Ponzu rather than anyone else. Their bond is really sweet and heartwarming!
When she was all grown up in 2014, she helped Ponzu take care of other kittens that came into the house. She took her role really seriously!
As years pass by, the amazing duo stayed in the same house and welcome new kittens almost every month. Their owner is Takeshi Saitou, a singer from Sapporo, Japan.
